Loans Make a Big Difference
Often, there is no option to poverty in Nicaragua. The unemployment rate in the rural areas is more than 90% and the average annual salary is about $600. There simply are no jobs.
We bring hope to families by participating in projects such as micro business loans that help develop self-sufficiency among Nicaraguans. The loans may be used for any worthwhile business venture, such as a mini poultry farm, a broom-making business, a neighborhood produce stand, a sewing co-op, or reselling food staples purchased in the city. Defaults are rare. The borrowers would not dream of betraying their word or disappointing their neighbors. |
