New Homes, New Hope for the Future

“Home” to most villagers is a one-room structure with a dirt floor, a roof made of plastic bags, and walls built of sticks gathered from the nearby countryside.

But something new is appearing on these remote mountain hillsides—homes with tin roofs, concrete floors that are easy to clean, and block walls that keep out the insects and rodents. Each family’s lot includes a garden plot to grow food. We help plan and fund these homes, built by the villagers who will live in them. The cost of each home—only about $2000.
