History

“In 1990, on a somewhat unplanned trip as a ‘tag-along’ to Nicaragua, we saw things and met people—mostly the children—that changed our lives. The people were poor beyond belief, victims of severe natural disasters, civil wars, and grinding poverty.
"Back home, we looked at our photos and thought about these beautiful little dark-eyed children of the poor. We wanted to help, but what could we do?
"We made up our minds. We wanted to bring these children hope… hope for their future. That’s when our work began.”
